Winter Conference 2019

January 24-26, 2019

The hotel room block is now open so register and reserve your room today at the discounted rate!  This is a great way to combine this two-day educational conference with a Winter get-away for you and your family….

 

A few highlights….

The Conference will be only two days this year, beginning Thursday and continuing through the end of the day on Friday.  That leaves you with the option to save some money and depart on Friday or to stay on Friday and have some quality time with your family and your peers.

 

On Thursday, the association boards will meet and there will be two pre-conference sessions, a six-hour POWTS Maintainer Qualifier session and a four-hour Master Operator class.  Concurrent with these pre-conference sessions, there will be business and technical training for both pumpers and POWTS installers.

 

Next, there will be an extended reception in the exhibit hall, giving you your first chance to visit with our many exhibitors.  There will be plenty of food there, but also enough time to visit with exhibitors before moving to one of the restaurants or lounges on property.

 

On Friday, the exhibit hall opens early and breakfast will be served.  A vendor showcase follows, where exhibitors will have a chance to tell you about their products and invite you, one last time, to stop by and remind you about some of the great prizes they have to offer.  Following the showcase and a little more exhibitor time, we’ll have a general session with Sara Heger of the University of Minnesota.  Immediately following, there will be breakout session, followed by lunch, additional sessions, and the Annual Meetings for each association.

 

The day wraps up with a general session presentation from George Klaetsch who will provide us with an election analysis, an update on current legislative and regulatory matters, and some insights into what to expect from the new administration, the State Budget, and the State legislature. 

 

DSPS and DNR continuing education credits have been applied for each day of the conference, allowing you to attend the full conference and send your employees to one day or the other without the expense of a hotel room. 

 

Be sure to make your hotel registration as soon as possible!  The hotel room block closes January 11, 2019.  We have negotiated preferred rates for the Conference, $109.00 for Wednesday and Thursday nights and $129.00 for Friday and Saturday nights.

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the WLWCA will be held during the Joint Winter Conference at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells.  The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019.  The exact location (i.e., the meeting room at Chula Vista) will be announced before the meeting, printed in the conference agenda, and posted that day.
